Vision

Vineyard Community Church exists to do the works of Jesus,
with the heart of Jesus, producing more and better followers of Jesus.

Our mission is to be an instrument of God’s expanding Kingdom by expressing the love and the actions of Jesus so that everyone, beginning with the 90,000 people in our sphere of influence, sees and hears the message of Jesus, is invited to follow Jesus, and is served in their journey to encounter God, enjoy people, and engage the world.

Our motto is building bridges to encounter God, enjoy people, and engage the world.

Because of Vineyard Charleston's faithfulness and ministry, in 100 years, we want it to be true that:

1. The Kingdom of God has greater expression in the world-tons of people are now following Jesus.
2. Generations of Charleston families still walk in righteousness, joy, and impact because they are encountering God, enjoying people
and engaging the world intentionally.
3.  Leaders are raised up that positively effect the world for Jesus.
4.  We are a part of a growing movement that plants churches around the world which are biblically faithful and powerful.
5.  We’re fulfilling the mission; Jesus pronounces it, “Well done!”

Vineyard Values:
Values express what is important. They are the foundation of all we do.

-We value the pursuit of God - we are hungry to know God, hear his voice and follow hard after Him.
-We value Christ-likeness. We want to remind people of Jesus
-We value being Spirit-led.  We want to have ears to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying.
-We value prayer.  We want to listen to and talk with God.
-We value the journey. We are intentional in leading people to know God personally and apply and follow His Word daily.
-We value the Kingdom of God.  We aim to move in the present expressions of God's reign, seeking the Spirit’s powerful presence, ministering through the Spirit’s gifts and seeing God heal and work wonders.
-We value the Mercy of God. We cut people slack
-We value integrity.  We speak the truth and deal honestly
-We value servant leadership.  God has placed spiritual authority in the pastoral leadership and they seek to exercise that ministry with humility and sincerity
-We value the individual.  Whether single or married, we want to enable and support relationships and family growth
-We value unity.  All who truly belong to Jesus are connected with Him and each other
-We value collegial relationships.  We are believing for the best in each other.  We believe that lasting growth happens in relationship
-We value reality.  We aim to walk in the Spirit and see the real supernatural works of God.  We aim to function in the natural plain based on God’s leading.
-We value simplicity.  We are naturally low-key and without hype
-We value being culture-current.  We aim for an atmosphere of ease and express ourselves in ways that our culture can respond positively.

Vineyard Priorities:
Because of what we value, we invest our time, treasure, and talents in:

Worship-
We desire to celebrate God with our whole being.  We want Jesus as the center of our existence.  We desire to be being filled with the Holy Spirit.  We desire Spirit-enabled worship in a style that is sincere, dynamic, and participating.
The Word of God-We want the Word of God, the Bible, taught in practical and inspiring ways.  We aim to hear and obey God’s Word to us - to be doing what God says and looking more like Jesus all the time.
Fellowship-We are the family of God, one Body in Jesus, joined together as brothers and sisters forever.  We seek to develop authentic and enabling friendships together, built on covenant love, mutual responsibility, faithfulness, and fun.
Ministry-All Christians are called to serve Christ, in the power of the God, in ways that build people up.  We are called to do the works of Jesus in the world today, for example we:
-express and demonstrate the good news of God's reign
-persuade people to turn run to God and not from God
-hang out with hurting people and ask God to heal the sick
and care for the poor and needy.
Training-Christians are to be trained to do the works of Jesus with hands-on opportunities, mentoring, and learning resources.
Sending-We are sent. We aim to plant new churches and encourage existing churches around the world.

Recent reports project 113,000 new homes in the Charleston area in the next 25 years.  Our dream is to be the first of several Charleston Vineyards.
